How to Share Access to Your Domain Name

As a business owner, you might need to give a team member or collaborator access to your domain. Maybe your web designer needs to update DNS settings, or your marketing team wants to manage email records. Whatever the case, you can do this without giving away ownership. Here’s how.

GoDaddy

1. Go to the GoDaddy Delegate Access page. Sign in if needed.
2. In People who can access my account, click Invite to Access.
3. Enter the Name and Email Address of the person you’re inviting.
4. Choose the Access Level (e.g., Products, Domains, Billing).
5. Click Invite. Your teammate will get an email to join your account with limited access.

Namecheap

1. Log into your Namecheap account.
2. Click Domain List on the left, then hit Manage next to your domain.
3. Open the Sharing & Transfer tab.
4. In Share Access, enter the email or Namecheap username of the person you’re inviting.
5. Choose what they can access (e.g., DNS, domain contact info).
6. Enter your password to confirm and save.

Other Domain Registrars (Cloudflare, Porkbun, Namesilo, etc.)

Every registrar is different, but the process usually looks like this:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Navigate to your Domains or My Domains section.
3. Click on the domain you want to share.
4. Look for a User Access, Team, or Permissions section.
5. Add your collaborator’s email address and select their role (Admin, Contributor, Viewer).
6. Save changes and notify them—they’ll get an invite to create their own login.
